Aligned with the government’s clean growth strategy and an ongoing transformation of the whole energy system, local energy projects begin at the scale of building estates and business parks and have impacts on neighbourhoods and utilities networks.
Local Energy North West supports organisations across the North West of England to identify, develop and implement energy projects. The programme is supported by central government and is overseen by the five local enterprise partnerships in the North West of England.
Local Energy North West is one of five local energy hubs that have been established across England. Each hub has a self-determined role suited to the region in which it operates, so that activities reflect local contexts. All local energy hubs have the overarching aims of bringing investment into energy infrastructure projects and making strategic linkages between local institutions.
